About Us

CTO” Chosen To Overcome” Mentorship knows the value of developing the skills to be able to share what’s on our hearts. It truly can be a matter of life or death. Our desire is to search to find the most effective methods of healthy communication and to share this knowledge and these skills with the next generation so that they may live their lives with the ability to relate to one another with respect, support, and love.

CTO can really help our youths have better conversations and a deeper understanding of each other. We can cultivate a more inclusive and more supportive environment in our schools and in our communities at large. Our interactive sessions through conversations allow us to let others know how we are feeling, or for us to find out how others are feeling, too. Conversations are bridges which connect me to you, you to your friend, your friend to their friends, and so on out to the rest of the world.

Curriculum : Learning And Understanding Relational Needs:

Give and receive relational needs.
Heal hurts and work through conflict
Grow in compassion and empathy
Have the tools and vocabulary to be able to express their challenges or sorrows in effective ways
Listen to other people's stories and look for ways to support them

Regular participation in our quality after- school program results in better decisions, healthy relationships, and a chance to over come the statistics of our communities.

As an organization, we seek to mobilize resources to respond to the lack of relational needs in our inner-city youth. Our primary goal is to equip the whole child to experience and reproduce Healthy Relationships.

Chosen To Overcome Mentorship

Chosen To Overcome Mentorship is a signature after-school and outreach program that provides a continuum of services for youths and young adults.

IRG

IRG is CTO unique and experiential method IRG stands for Identify, Receive and Give relational needs Through Experiences.

SUMMER CAMPS

CPO's offers unique summer camps that grant youth enriching experiences while in a safe supervised environment.

THE NEED

The children we serve, live in Palm Beach County’s most at-risk neighborhoods due to poverty levels, crime and violence, school readiness, breakdown of family, and Juvenile delinquency.

In the neighborhoods we serve, 65% of the youth live in poverty.

DID YOU KNOW?

Students who are unable to read by 3rd grade are four times more likely to leave high school without a diploma than proficient readers.

DID YOU KNOW?

The majority of juvenile crimes are committed between 3 PM - 6 PM on weekdays.
